ACCORDING TO OSP DATA CITED IN OUR PETITION, 83.6% OF HILLTOP STUDENTS MEET ELA STANDARDS COMPARED TO 65.6% AT MARTHA LAKE.
IN MATH, THE GAP IS EVEN WIDER 85% AT HILLTOP VERSUS 61.9% AT MARTHA LAKE.
REASSIGNING OUR STUDENTS TO A SCHOOL WITH SUCH DIFFERENT PERFORMANCE METRICS CONTRADICTS THE GOAL OF MAINTAINING INSTRUCTIONAL OUTCOMES FOR ALL AFFECTED STUDENTS. WE URGE THE BOARD TO PRIORITIZE ACADEMIC CONSISTENCY AND KEEP OUR STUDENTS AT HILLTOP.

FIRST WE KIND OF TACKLED THE ISSUE OF STUDENTS KIND OF HAVING A FEAR OF SPEAKING TO BOARD MEMBERS OR JUST STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES ABOUT SOME ISSUES THAT THEY MIGHT BE DEALING WITH. AND SOME STUDENTS SUGGESTED TO US THAT WE COULD USE KIND OF LIKE AN ANONYMOUS GOOGLE FORM THAT WE COULD PUT OUT WHERE PEOPLE COULD KIND OF LIKE SEND IN REQUESTS ON THINGS THAT THEY WANT TO CHANGE OR JUST SOME THINGS THAT WERE BOTHERING THEM WITHIN THE DISTRICT OR WITHIN THEIR SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT AND THEIR CLASSES.

I RETIRED THERE AS A LIBRARIAN IN IN 2020. WAS THERE EIGHT YEARS PRIOR AS WELL? SO MAYBE I'VE HAD SOME OF YOUR STUDENTS. I JUST WANT TO SAY THIS IS AN IMPRESSIVE EFFORT THAT YOU'VE PUT IN TO THIS, AND WE REALLY APPRECIATE HAVING YOU.
THE INFORMATION YOU'VE BROUGHT AND ALSO YOUR PRESENCE THIS IS LIKE PROBABLY THE BIGGEST CROWD WE'VE HAD AT A SCHOOL BOARD MEETING IN, IN PERSON. THE FACT THAT YOU TOOK THE TIME TO COME AND STAND BEHIND YOUR SPEAKERS IS ALL IMPRESSIVE.
WHAT AN EXCITING GAME. MEADOWDALE SCORED FIRST, THEN SOMETHING HAPPENED THAT I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN A SOCCER GAME. I HAD SEEN IT ON FILM, BUT I'D NEVER BEEN AT A SOCCER GAME.
IN REFEREEING OVER 3000 GAMES I HAD NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN.
AND THAT WAS AT THE MOLLY TERRACE, TOOK THE KICKOFF AND KICKED IT STRAIGHT INTO THE GOAL.
OH, LIKE THE KEEPER HAD TO BE A LITTLE BIT OUT OF POSITION, RIGHT? BUT THAT WAS THAT WAS AMAZING. AND IT WAS A VERY TIGHT GAME.
MEADOWDALE TOOK THE LEAD AGAIN WITH LIKE 10 OR 15 MINUTES TO GO.
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE WAS PRESSING PRESSING PRESSING WITH LIKE THREE MINUTES TO GO IN THE GAME.
THEY TIED IT. THEN WE HAD TO GO TO OVERTIME. AND THEN MOUNTLAKE TERRACE WON WITH ANOTHER GOAL.
SO IT WAS VERY EXCITING GAME. REALLY APPRECIATE SEEING THE EFFORT.

AND SO WE HAVE SOME GRAVE CONCERNS AS THE EXPANSION OF THOSE ASYNCHRONOUS AUTONOMOUS TYPES OF COURSES WHERE WE KNOW STUDENTS HAVE LESS CONTACT WITH INSTRUCTORS OR WITH THEIR PEERS IS HAPPENING.
