[00:00:02]

GOOD EVENING AND WELCOME, EVERYONE.

THIS REGULAR BOARD MEETING OF THE EDMONDS SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS IS NOW CALLED TO ORDER.

[2. ROLL CALL-6:31 pm]

AND I'LL DO A ROLL CALL.

VOTE. A ROLL CALL.

NOT A VOTE. JUST A ROLL CALL.

DIRECTOR SMITH.

PRESENT. DIRECTOR NOBLE.

CAN YOU HEAR US, GARY? ARE YOU MUTED? SOMETIMES THE CONTROLS ARE WHEN YOU'RE ON ZOOM.

I'M PRESENT.

I'M GLAD YOU ARE.

AND A GIFT, TOO.

OKAY. DIRECTOR CHASE IS PRESENT.

DIRECTOR KILGORE HERE.

I'M DIRECTOR KATIMS, AND THAT GIVES US A QUORUM.

AND NOBLES HERE TOO.

YAY! WELCOME.

OKAY, SO I'M GOING TO ASK DR.

[3. LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT-6:32 pm]

MINER TO DO THE LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT.

THANK YOU, DR. KATIMS. WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OF THIS PLACE, THE SNOHOMISH PEOPLE AND THEIR SUCCESSORS, THE TULALIP TRIBES, WHO SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL HAVE TAKEN CARE OF, HUNTED, FISHED AND GATHERED ON THESE LANDS.

WE RESPECT THEIR SOVEREIGNTY, THEIR RIGHT TO SELF-DETERMINATION, AND WE HONOR THEIR SACRED SPIRITUAL CONNECTION WITH THE LAND AND WATER.

WE BY ACKNOWLEDGING THESE HOMELANDS, WE COMMIT TO WORKING WITH TRIBAL NATIONS TO FURTHER THE EDUCATION AIMS THEY HAVE IDENTIFIED IN OUR CLASSROOMS AND SCHOOLS.

THANK YOU. NOW, IF EVERYBODY WILL RISE AND JOIN WITH ME IN SAYING THE PLEDGE TO THE FLAG.

[4. FLAG SALUTE-6:33 pm]

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS.

ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

[5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA-6:34 pm]

NEXT IS APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA.

DO I HEAR A MOTION AND A SECOND TO APPROVE TONIGHT'S AGENDA AS PRESENTED? SO MOVED. SECOND.

I'VE HEARD A MOTION IN A SECOND.

IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION? HEARING NONE.

I'LL CALL FOR A VOTE.

ALL THOSE WHO ARE IN FAVOR OF TONIGHT'S AGENDA AS PRESENTED, PLEASE INDICATE BY SAYING AYE.

AYE, AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED SAY NAY.

ANY ABSTENTIONS? AND TONIGHT'S AGENDA IS APPROVED AS PRESENTED.

NEXT, WE'LL HAVE THE SUPERINTENDENTS REPORT.

[6. SUPERINTENDENT REPORT-6:35 pm]

JUST A VERY BRIEF REPORT TONIGHT.

I KNOW AS WE HEAD INTO THE SUMMER SEASON, IT CAN SEEM LIKE MAYBE THINGS ARE QUIETING DOWN AND THEY DO TO A CERTAIN EXTENT.

BUT WE CURRENTLY HAVE OVER 1000 STUDENTS ATTENDING OUR SCHOOLS EVERY DAY IN VARIOUS PROGRAMS ON TOP OF THOSE WHO ARE COMING TO THE MEALS AND SUMMER CAMPS PUT ON BY THE FOUNDATION AND OTHER PARTNERS.

SO WHILE IT IS QUIETER, IT IS DEFINITELY STILL A BUSY TIME.

SO IF YOU SEE BUSSES ON THE ROAD OR KIDS WAITING FOR BUSSES, THAT'S WHAT'S HAPPENING.

LEARNING CONTINUES EVEN AS THERE'S A BREAK.

THAT'S REALLY GREAT NEWS.

THANK YOU FOR SHARING THAT WITH US.

NEXT, ARE APPROVAL OF MINUTES AND THE TWO SETS OF MINUTES THAT WE'RE GOING TO APPROVE TONIGHT.

[7. APPROVAL OF MINUTES-6:45 pm]

ONE IS FOR THE JUNE 20TH, 2023 STUDY SESSION ON OUR BUDGET DEVELOPMENT.

AND THE OTHER ONE IS MINUTES FROM OUR JUNE 27TH REGULAR BUSINESS MEETING.

DO I HEAR A MOTION TO APPROVE? AND A SECOND. SO MOVED.

I ACTUALLY HAVE A QUESTION.

DID YOU SAY YOU WANTED TO PROVE THOSE AT THE SAME TIME? I HAVE TO ABSTAIN FROM THE 20TH BECAUSE I WASN'T HERE, SO I THINK WE'LL HAVE TO DO THEM SEPARATELY THEN.

ALL RIGHT. OKAY.

AND IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND. OKAY.

SO LET'S GO AHEAD.

IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION? HEARING NONE.

I'M GOING TO CALL FOR A VOTE FIRST ON THE JUNE 20TH, 2023, STUDY SESSION ON OUR BUDGET DEVELOPMENT.

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR OF THE MINUTES AS PRESENTED, PLEASE INDICATE BY SAYING AYE.

AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED SAY NAY.

ANY ABSTENTIONS? I ABSTAIN. ABSTAIN.

SO THERE WERE TWO ABSTENTIONS.

AND NEXT THE MINUTES FROM THE JUNE 27TH, 2023 REGULAR BUSINESS MEETING, ALL THOSE IN FAVOR OF THE MINUTES AS PRESENTED, PLEASE INDICATE BY SAYING AYE.

AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED SAY NAY.

ANY ABSTENTIONS? ERSKINE. THANK YOU.

AND BOTH SETS OF MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

[8. PUBLIC COMMENTS-6:50 pm]

NEXT, WE HAVE OUR PUBLIC COMMENTS.

[00:05:01]

THE PUBLIC COMMENT SECTION OF THE AGENDA IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PEOPLE TO ADDRESS THE SCHOOL BOARD.

SINCE THIS IS A BUSINESS MEETING OF THE SCHOOL BOARD, THE PURPOSE OF PUBLIC COMMENTS IS FOR THOSE INTERESTED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ABOUT ITEMS ON THE AGENDA OR OTHER SPECIFIC WORK WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

THIS ISN'T A TIME FOR THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS EACH OTHER.

ITEMS BROUGHT FORWARD DURING THIS PORTION OF THE MEETING ARE NOT TYPICALLY ACTED UPON BY THE BOARD AT THIS TIME, BUT MAY BE FOLLOWED UP BY THE BOARD, THE SUPERINTENDENT AND OUR STAFF AT A LATER TIME.

TONIGHT WE DO NOT HAVE ANY VIRTUAL COMMENTS OR WRITTEN COMMENTS.

SO WE WILL JUST HAVE SOME IN-PERSON COMMENTS.

THE BOARD ALSO ACCEPTS WRITTEN COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS AT ANY TIME THROUGH EMAIL.

WE READ EACH COMMENT AND EMAIL WE RECEIVE AND WE APPRECIATE THE TIME AND EFFORT IT TAKES FOR THOSE WHO WRITE THEM.

WHILE WE ENCOURAGE AND APPRECIATE PUBLIC COMMENTS, PLEASE LIMIT YOUR COMMENTS THAT ARE READ ALOUD TO THREE MINUTES.

IF A COMMENT BECOMES TOO LENGTHY, I MAY NEED TO INTERRUPT IN ORDER TO ALLOW EACH PERSON EQUAL TIME.

WE ALSO ASK THOSE WHO ARE MAKING A PUBLIC COMMENT DURING A BOARD MEETING TO PLEASE MAKE THEIR STATEMENTS IN A CIVIL MANNER WITHOUT DISPARAGING NAME CALLING OR OTHERWISE TARGETING ANY ONE PERSON OR GROUP IN THE DISTRICT.

SIMILARLY, WE ASK EVERYONE IN THE AUDIENCE TO PLEASE SHOW RESPECT BY LISTENING QUIETLY WITHOUT TALKING OR WHISPERING TO EACH OTHER SO THAT EVERYONE CAN HEAR EACH COMMENT. TONIGHT.

THE FIRST PERSON SIGNED UP IS TONY SHAPIRO.

GOOD EVENING. THANKS FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK HERE.

I'D LIKE TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT THE GENDER IDEOLOGY PROCESS.

LET'S CONSIDER SOME OF THE NUTS AND BOLTS OF THE TRANSGENDER TRANSITION PROCESS.

THE DISPENSING OF DRUGS TO STOP PUBERTY HAS A PERMANENT CONSEQUENCES ON THE BODY.

HOW IS HOW IS THIS DISCLOSED TO THE RECIPIENT OR THE PARENTS? SECONDLY, ARE THESE CHILDREN MATURE ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THE LONG TERM CONSEQUENCES THAT VERY WELL MAY BE ENCOUNTERED BY THESE STEPS? ARE THEY TOLD THAT THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE CHILDREN WHEN THEY BECOME AN ADULT? A JUNE 7TH, 2023, ARTICLE IN THE WALL STREET JOURNAL STATED THE FOLLOWING.

THE CENTER FOR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING REVEALED IN 2017 THAT THE FDA HAD RECEIVED MORE THAN 10,000 ADVERSE EVENT REPORTS FROM WOMEN WHO WERE GIVEN LUPRON OFF LABEL AS CHILDREN TO HELP THEM GROW TALLER.

THEY REPORTED THINNING AND BRITTLE TEETH, TEETH THAT SHED ENAMEL OR CRACKED.

DEGENERATIVE SPINAL DISCS, PAINFUL JOINTS, RADICAL MOOD SWINGS, SEIZURES, MIGRAINES AND SUICIDAL THOUGHTS.

SOME DEVELOP FIBROMYALGIA.

THERE WERE REPORTS OF FERTILITY PROBLEMS AND COGNITIVE ISSUES.

THE FDA IN 2016 ORDERED DRUG MANUFACTURERS TO ADD.

A WARNING THAT CHILDREN ON LUPRON MIGHT DEVELOP NEW OR INTENSIFIED PSYCHIATRIC PROBLEMS. LUPRON HAS BEEN DISPENSED TO CHILD MOLESTERS TO REDUCE THEIR SEXUAL TENDENCIES.

TRANSGENDER CHILDREN ARE AT LEAST THREE TIMES AS LIKELY AS THE GENERAL POPULATION TO HAVE ANXIETY, DEPRESSION AND NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS.

LAST YEAR, THE FDA ADDED ANOTHER WARNING FOR CHILDREN ABOUT THE RISK OF BRAIN SWELLING AND VISION LOSS.

SO MY QUESTION IS WHETHER DISTRICT BE DISPENSING THESE DRUGS AT THE NEW HEALTH CLINICS YOU ARE INSTALLING IN THE HIGH SCHOOLS.

WHILE MEMBERS OF THIS BOARD HAVE DISMISSED THE NOTION OF PERSONAL LIABILITY FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP OF THIS DISTRICT.

PERHAPS YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER THE LONG TERM CONSEQUENCES TO THESE CHILDREN WHEN THEY BECOME ADULTS AS THEY FOLLOW THE PATH YOU ARE LEADING THEM DOWN.

THANK YOU. NEXT UP IS JENNIFER CASTLE.

WELCOME. GOOD EVENING.

I'M JENNIFER CASTLE.

I'M A MUSIC PARENT AND MY SON ATTENDS EDMONDS-WOODWAY AND PLAYS VIOLIN IN THE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA.

HE'LL BE A JUNIOR NEXT YEAR.

I'VE BEEN CAREFULLY FOLLOWING THE BUDGET PROCESS SINCE I LEARNED THAT MANY CLASSES ACROSS THE DISTRICT WERE BEING CUT LAST APRIL.

IN MY THREE MONTHS OF INVOLVEMENT, I'VE LEARNED A LOT ABOUT ALL IT TAKES TO FUND A DISTRICT.

YOU HAVE CHALLENGES.

WE HAVE CHALLENGES THAT WILL CONTINUE NEXT YEAR AS WELL.

AND THESE ARE THE CHALLENGES THAT PUT STRAIN ON THE SYSTEM THAT RESULTS IN HARD, UNPOPULAR CHOICES THAT NO ONE WANTS TO MAKE.

NEAR THE CLOSE OF LAST MEETING, I HEARD DR.

KATIMS DISCUSS THAT BROADENING ADVOCACY WITH STATE LEGISLATURES TO INCLUDE MORE PARENTS, STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IS SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE BENEFICIAL.

AND I'M HERE TONIGHT TO OFFER THE SUPPORT OF THE MUSIC PARENTS AS AN ADVOCACY GROUP THAT WOULD LIKE TO EXPAND OUR WORK BEYOND THIS CHAMBER AND PARTNER WITH YOU

[00:10:03]

TO TRY TO GET MORE OVERALL FUNDING FROM OLYMPIA.

WE MIGHT NEED GUIDANCE.

WE WILL NEED GUIDANCE AND INFORMATION TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE LANDSCAPE AND WHAT WE'LL BE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH.

WE FEEL THAT THIS PROJECT IS A GOOD FIT FOR US BECAUSE, AS WAS POINTED OUT IN THE LAST MEETING, THE UNDERFUNDING OF SPECIFIC PARTS OF THE BUDGET BY THE STATE HELPED TO CREATE THE UNFORTUNATE SITUATION OF THE SEVERE CUTS TO MUSIC CLASSES, WHICH AT THIS POINT STILL STAND.

I DO HAVE TO NOTE MY SINCERE CONGRATULATIONS ON THE WINS YOU'VE HAD WITH THE BUDGET IN THESE LAST FEW MONTHS.

MANY STUDENTS AND FAMILIES IN THE DISTRICT WILL BENEFIT FROM THESE VICTORIES, AND I ESPECIALLY APPRECIATE THAT YOU REACHED OUT TO THE CITY OF EDMONDS TO REPLACE THE SINKS AND ALSO THE IMPROVEMENT IN SPECIAL ED FUNDING RATIO.

GOOD WORK AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO MORE DIALOG AS WE GO INTO THE BUDGET NEXT YEAR AND LEARNING HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS AND COME UP WITH NOVEL FUNDING SOLUTIONS AND KEEP ROBUST MUSIC CLASSES AS PART OF THE CORE OF THE EDMONDS SCHOOL DISTRICT IS WHAT WE'RE HOPING TO ACCOMPLISH.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

AND WE REALLY APPRECIATE THAT OFFER AND WE WILL TAKE YOU UP ON IT.

CHERYL [INAUDIBLE].

HELLO. MY NAME IS. IS IT ON? OKAY. IS IT? IS IT ON? YOU MIGHT NEED TO RAISE IT.

OR HOLD IT. OH, YEAH.

OKAY. I CAN DO THAT. CAN YOU HEAR ME? YEAH. OKAY. HELLO.

MY NAME IS CHERYL. IN THIS SUMMER I AM WORKING IN THE MULTILINGUAL LEARNER PROGRAM.

IT IS SO MUCH FUN.

IN JUST MY CLASS ALONE, WE HAVE STUDENTS FROM MEXICO, HONDURAS AND NICARAGUA.

UKRAINE, RUSSIA AND AZERBAIJAN, BRAZIL AND ETHIOPIA.

THESE ARE THIRD, FOURTH AND FIFTH GRADERS, ONLY 16 STUDENTS, AND THEY ARE FROM EIGHT DIFFERENT HOME COUNTRIES.

WE ARE STUDYING THE SOLAR SYSTEM.

AT LYNDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, THERE ARE ALSO TWO PRIMARY GRADE CLASSROOMS FOR SECOND AND THIRD GRADERS.

THEY ARE STUDYING OCEANS.

SPRUCE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IS ALSO HOSTING MULTILINGUAL LEARNERS.

BUT THE BEST WAY FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS TO LEARN ENGLISH IS TO BE AROUND THEIR PEERS WHOSE FIRST LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH.

UNFORTUNATELY, IN THIS TIME OF BUDGET SHORTFALL, THE EDMONDS SCHOOL DISTRICT IS OFFERING ONLY SKELETAL PROGRAMING FOR STUDENTS IN THE SUMMERTIME.

THAT IDEAL SITUATION TO HAVE ONE OR EVEN TWO NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS FOR EVERY ONE MULTILINGUAL STUDENT LEARNING ABOUT OCEANS AND THE SOLAR SYSTEM ALONGSIDE EACH OTHER. THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN THIS SUMMER.

NEXT SUMMER.

MEANWHILE. PLEASE LET ME READ AN EMAIL MESSAGE TO YOU THAT WAS SENT TO STAFF YESTERDAY AFTERNOON.

HI ALL. PAULA WILL BE BRINGING SNACKS TO EACH OF THE SCHOOLS TOMORROW MORNING SO THAT YOU'LL HAVE THESE FOR THE REST OF THE SUMMER.

THEY WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE OFFICE AREA FOR DISTRIBUTION AMONGST THE CLASSES AT YOUR SITE.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE SNACKS ARE THE ONLY SNACKS WE WILL HAVE FOR ALL SUMMER, SO WE'LL NEED TO BE DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT THE FOUR WEEKS.

THESE SNACKS CAN BE USED SPARINGLY AND ONLY WHEN NECESSARY.

MEANWHILE, FOLKS IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICE WHO WERE PREVIOUSLY BRINGING HOME $248,000 PER YEAR.

WE'LL NOW BE BRINGING HOME 267.

THOUSAND DOLLARS PER YEAR.

DOES ANYBODY SEE A PROBLEM WITH THIS? IS THERE ANYONE HERE WHO HAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS? ANYONE. ANYONE.

I CAN GIVE LOTS OF WAIT TIME.

NEXT ON THE AGENDA IS THE CONSENT AGENDA.

[9. CONSENT AGENDA-7:20 pm]

THIS IS THE GROUP OF ITEMS THAT ARE RELATIVELY ROUTINE THAT WE CAN VOTE ON AS A BLOCK, OR WE CAN SEPARATE ANY OUT EITHER TO DISCUSS OR VOTE ON SEPARATELY.

TONIGHT, WE HAVE SEVEN ITEMS SIX HAVE TO DO WITH PERSONNEL AND AGREEMENTS WITH OUR STAFF, ORGANIZATIONS, ASSOCIATIONS, AND WE HAVE ONE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CAPITAL REGION, ESD FOR FINGERPRINTING SERVICES AND THE PROCESSING OF FINGERPRINTS.

DO I HEAR A MOTION AND A SECOND TO APPROVE TONIGHT'S CONSENT AGENDA?

[00:15:01]

MOVE TO APPROVE.

SECOND. IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION? HEARING NONE. I'LL CALL FOR A VOTE.

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR OF TONIGHT'S CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED.

PLEASE INDICATE BY SAYING AYE.

AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED SAY NAY.

ANY ABSTENTIONS? AND TONIGHT'S CONSENT AGENDA IS APPROVED.

WE JUST HAVE ONE REPORT AND PRESENTATION THIS EVENING.

[10. REPORTS-7:35 pm]

THE MAY BUDGET STATUS REPORT WELCOMING FORWARD LYDIA SELLIE TO DELIVER THAT REPORT.

I THINK THIS WILL BE A SHORT REPORT TONIGHT BECAUSE WE'VE DONE A LOT OF WORK ON BUDGET AND NUMBERS OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS.

SO WE ARE 75% THROUGH THE SCHOOL YEAR WITH THE MAY REPORT, ALTHOUGH IT FEELS LIKE WE'VE REACHED THE END.

SO FOR MAY, I INCORPORATED THE HIGHER SAFETY NET AWARD INTO THE NUMBERS.

WE DID RECEIVE WE WON'T RECEIVE THE ACTUAL K-3 COMPLIANCE APPORTIONMENT UNTIL JUNE, BUT SINCE I HAVE THE JUNE REPORT, I WAS ABLE TO FACTOR IT INTO THE MAY BUDGET STATUS.

ONE OF THE THINGS ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR PAGE I'M HAVING CLICKER TROUBLES IS WHAT IT DOES IS IT INCLUDES ENCUMBRANCES IN THE TOTAL EXPENDITURE LINE.

SO EXPENDITURES.

SO REVENUES ARE AS OF MAY 31ST BECAUSE YOU DON'T ENCUMBER REVENUES, BUT EXPENDITURES ARE BOTH PROJECTED SALARY COSTS FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR, AS WELL AS ANY PURCHASE ORDERS THAT HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THAT FUND.

AND WHAT THAT DOES IS IT LOOKS AT EXPENDITURES AS A PERCENTAGE OF THE BUDGET TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE NOT AT RISK OF EXCEEDING THE BOARD AUTHORIZED BUDGET.

SO THAT IS ONE OF THE GOALS OF THIS REPORT.

SO EXPENDITURES ARE ACTUAL PLUS PROJECTED VERSUS THE OTHER NUMBERS ARE ACTUAL AS OF MAY.

SO IT'S A LITTLE BIT CONFUSING, BUT IT'S IT'S LIKE I SAID, IT'S A TOOL TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE STAYING WITHIN OUR BUDGET.

UM, SO ON THIS REPORT, IT SHOWS THAT EXPENDITURES EXCEED REVENUES BY ABOUT $4 MILLION MORE THAN AT THIS POINT LAST YEAR.

AND OF COURSE, THAT ALREADY HAS BEEN PART OF THE ENDING FUND BALANCE PROJECTIONS.

SO WE KNEW WE WERE GOING DOWN, WE ARE GOING DOWN.

AND AGAIN, THAT WILL LEAD US TO ABOUT A $25 MILLION ENDING FUND BALANCE.

OKAY. I'M GOING TO SKIP THROUGH THESE SLIDES.

THIS WAS THE FIRST.

NO, ACTUALLY, JUNE IS THE FIRST MONTH THAT I PUT TOGETHER THE BUDGET STATUS WITHOUT AN ADMIN ASSISTANT.

SO I HAVE BEEN TAKING A LOOK AND I WILL WORK WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT TO DETERMINE WHAT KINDS OF WHICH OF THE REPORTS ARE THE MOST BENEFICIAL TO YOU.

SO I'M SKIPPING THROUGH THESE.

AND THEN AGAIN, EVEN WITH THE DECLINE IN ENROLLMENT, THE HIGHER K-3 AND THE SAFETY NET, WE'RE STILL TRACKING SLIGHTLY IN THE $25 MILLION RANGE.

SO THAT HASN'T CHANGED SINCE THE BUDGET PRESENTATION TWO WEEKS AGO.

AND WE HAVE ONE MORE MONTH OF ENROLLMENT.

THAT'S JUNE TO BE REFLECTED.

AND THAT IS IT FOR ME, UNLESS THERE'S ANY QUESTIONS.

ANY QUESTIONS? DIRECTOR NOBLE.

EVERYBODY. NONE AT THIS POINT.

OKAY. OKAY.

AGAIN, IF THERE'S ANY CHANGES, IT WOULD BE FOR THE 23-24 YEAR AFTER CONSULTATION.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

AND OUR NEXT ITEM IS UNFINISHED BUSINESS.

[11. UNFINISHED BUSINESS- 7:50 pm]

A SECOND READING TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 2316.

THE 2023-2024 BUDGET.

LYDIA, MAYBE YOU WANT TO STAY THERE JUST IN CASE THERE ARE ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS FOR THIS ONE.

SO IS THERE A MOTION TO APPROVE AND A SECOND FOR RESOLUTION 2316? THE 2023-24 BUDGET.

MOVE TO APPROVE. SECOND.

I'VE HEARD A MOTION TO APPROVE.

AND A SECOND. IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION?

[00:20:04]

YOU KNOW, I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT I APPRECIATE ALL THE WORK THAT THE STAFF HAS PUT INTO DOING THIS.

IT'S TOUGH.

YOU KNOW, NUMBERS DIDN'T LOOK THE WAY WE WANTED THEM TO LOOK, BUT WE'RE DOING THE BEST WE CAN WITH WHAT WE'VE GOT.

AND I KNOW A LOT OF HARD WORK AND A LOT OF HAND-WRINGING WENT INTO THIS.

SO THANK YOU TO STAFF WHO WORKED ON IT.

ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR DISCUSSION.

AND I SECOND WHAT YOU SAY.

I THINK THAT THE STAFF HAS DONE A REALLY GREAT JOB OF BEING VERY TRANSPARENT AND OPEN THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS.

WE'VE HAD A LOT OF INPUT FROM A LOT OF PEOPLE.

WE UNDERSTAND THE ANGST THAT'S OUT THERE.

WE'RE DOING OUR BEST TO TRY TO MITIGATE IT FOR THE FUTURE, BUT KNOWING THAT IT'S GOING TO CONTINUE UNLESS WE CAN BRING IN ADDITIONAL FUNDING, WHICH WE'RE WORKING TOWARD. BUT FOR THE MOMENT, I THINK THIS BUDGET WILL BE ABLE TO WORK WITH AND IT'S BEEN A HARD LIFT, BUT AND THERE HAVE BEEN TOUGH DECISIONS, BUT THEY'VE BEEN MADE AND I THINK WE'LL BE OKAY.

SO WITH NO OTHER DISCUSSION, I'LL CALL FOR A ROLL CALL VOTE.

AND RESOLUTION 2316, THE 23-24 BUDGET PASSES.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

OUR SECOND ITEM OF UNFINISHED BUSINESS THIS EVENING IS A SECOND ITEM WITH A RECOMMENDED APPROVAL FROM STAFF FOR BOARD POLICY 4218 A FAMILY LANGUAGE ACCESS PLAN.

THIS POLICY WAS BROUGHT TO US BY DR.

VERGARA TO IMPROVE OUR LANGUAGE ACCESS FOR FAMILIES.

AND JUST A REMINDER, WHILE THIS POLICY DOES ADDRESS THE DESIGNATION OF A LANGUAGE ACCESS LIAISON COORDINATOR, THAT WON'T BE A NEW POSITION.

THOSE DUTIES WILL BE ASSIGNED TO AN EXISTING STAFF MEMBER.

SO DO I HEAR A MOTION TO APPROVE? AND A SECOND FOR THE REVISED BOARD POLICY? 4218 ON FAMILY LANGUAGE ACCESS PLAN.

MOVE TO APPROVE.

SECOND. IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION? THEY LOOK LIKE REALLY TIMELY UPDATES.

OKAY. THANK YOU TO THE STAFF FOR DOING THIS.

I'LL CALL FOR A ROLL CALL VOTE.

DIRECTOR SMITH. AYE.

DIRECTOR NOBLE AYE.

DIRECTOR CHASE AYE.

DIRECTOR KILGORE AYE.

DIRECTOR KATIMS AYE.

AND THE REVISED BOARD POLICY 4218 ON FAMILY LANGUAGE.

ACCESS IS PASSED.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. WE HAVE ONE ITEM OF NEW BUSINESS THIS EVENING.

[12. NEW BUSINESS- 8:00 pm]

THIS IS A FIRST READING.

NO ACTION REQUESTED FOR REVISED BOARD POLICY 4060 DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS BROUGHT TO US BY HARMONY WEINBERG, OUR COMMUNICATION MANAGER.

THE CHANGES TO THIS POLICY ARE LARGELY AROUND SEPARATING OUT POLICY AND PROCEDURE.

IT WAS KIND OF A, FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD, A ROBUST POLICY INSOFAR AS IT CONTAINED MOST OF THE THINGS THAT WE WOULD NORMALLY SEE IN PROCEDURE.

SO WE'RE ALIGNING THIS BETTER WITH THE TYPES OF POLICIES AND PROCEDURES WE NORMALLY SEE.

IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION OR QUESTIONS? IF I RECALL, THE REVIEW OF THIS WAS A ROBUST DISCUSSION ON THE WHOLE POLICY ITSELF.

I THINK IT'S SMART TO SEPARATE IT OUT LIKE WE NORMALLY DO IT, SO.

WELL, I LIKE THAT IT'S BEING SEPARATED OUT JUST SO WE HAVE CONSISTENCY BECAUSE ALL OUR OTHER POLICIES SEPARATE PROCEDURE FROM AND YOU KNOW, I'M ALL ABOUT PARALLELISM.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR DISCUSSION ON THAT? DIRECTOR NOBLE, ARE YOU OKAY? I'M GOOD. THAT'S GOOD.

WE'LL BRING THAT FORWARD FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION FOR APPROVAL AT OUR AUGUST MEETING.

AND AARON, THERE ARE NO MORE PUBLIC COMMENTS, I ASSUME.

SO I'M GOING TO TURN TO DIRECTOR CHASE FOR LEGISLATIVE UPDATE.

[14. LEGISLATIVE UPDATES]

SURE. THANKS. WELL, A LOT OF THE LEGISLATURE LEGISLATORS ARE BUSY DOING THEIR SUMMER HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES.

WE ARE RIGHT NOW INVITING ALL OF THEM TO OUR BOARD RETREAT ON THE 22ND.

AND SO WE'RE GETTING SOME RESPONSES BACK.

THIS WILL ALIGN WITH ALSO WHAT WE HAD STARTED DOING PRE-COVID AND INTERRUPTED DURING COVID AND STARTED THIS LAST YEAR.

EVERY TIME, PARTICULARLY WHEN A NEW SUPERINTENDENT COMES IN, WE GO THROUGH INTRODUCTIONS AND MEETING WITH OUR LEGISLATORS IN THE FALL INDIVIDUALLY JUST TO TALK, SHARE WHAT'S GOING ON. WE DID THAT LAST YEAR.

THAT'S GOING TO BE IN ADDITION TO WHAT WE'RE GOING TO BE INVITING THEM FOR BREAKFAST AT OUR RETREAT TO CONTINUE THE CYCLE OF ADVOCACY, WHICH IS RELATIONSHIP BUILDING AND JUST CHECKING IN ON WHAT OUR NEEDS ARE, WHAT THEY KNOW THAT THEY FUNDED, AND A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMPACTS ON OUR DISTRICT.

[00:25:10]

AND I THINK IT'S GOING TO BE GOOD MOVING FORWARD.

AND WE HAD TALKED ABOUT DOING THE A COMMITTEE, WHICH WE HAD DONE IN THE PAST OF A LEGISLATIVE TEAM, WHICH WAS PARENTS, STAFF, COMMUNITY MEMBERS WORKING AS A TEAM TO THINK ABOUT LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES, ADVOCACY, AND WE'LL PULL UP WHAT WE DID.

RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF COVID AND REVISIT THAT AND HOW WE CAN MOVE FORWARD ON THAT, BECAUSE WE DO HAVE FOLKS THAT NOW ARE SEEING THAT WE NEED TO DO COLLECTIVE ADVOCACY.

SO, I MEAN, THAT'S BASICALLY WHERE WE'RE AT SUMMER.

A LOT OF FOLKS ARE ON SUMMER VACATION, SO WE'LL SEE WHAT THEY'RE DOING.

WE DO AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL, I WILL SAY WE DID HAVE CONGRESS IS STILL ON A TWO WEEK RECESS, BUT THERE ARE TWO REPRESENTATIVES THAT ARE GOING TO BE REINTRODUCING THE FUND TO FULLY FUND THE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES EDUCATION ACT.

AND I BELIEVE THEY'RE FILING THAT THIS WEEK.

SO WE'LL FIND OUT HOW THAT MAY IMPACT US.

I'M NOT REALLY SURE. THIS IS SENATOR VAN HOLLEN AND JARED HUFFMAN, AND THEY WILL LOOK FORWARD TO UPDATES BECAUSE WE DO KNOW THAT'S A DEFINITE NEED. SO ALL'S QUIET RIGHT AT THE MOMENT IN THE FEDS, BUT IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS, IT'S GOING TO HEAT BACK UP.

OKAY. THANK YOU. AND I CAN SHARE I HAD A GOOD ONE ON ONE MEETING WITH SENATOR MARCO LIIAS AND THE ONE AREA THAT WE HAD, WE HAD A GOOD DISCUSSION, BUT HE DIDN'T GIVE EXACTLY THE SAME INFORMATION ABOUT THE CAPITAL GAINS TAX REVENUE. AND SO I'VE GOTTEN TALKING TO THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE, SORT OF THREE DIFFERENT TAKES ON IT.

AND SO I LEFT HIM WITH THE QUESTION TO PLEASE FIND OUT FOR US.

WILL WE BE GETTING ANY ADDITIONAL MONEY? IF SO, HOW MUCH AND WHEN WE WILL GET IT? AND ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS TO IT? AND I WILL BE FOLLOWING UP WITH A LOVELY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE MEETING AND HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS WE HAVE.

SO AS WE LEARN MORE WE WILL SHARE.

BUT RIGHT NOW IT'S.

ONE OF THOSE THINGS WHERE IT SEEMS TO BE AN UNKNOWN.

THAT'S MY UNDERSTANDING TOO.

YEAH. SO MAYBE WHEN THEY COME TO OUR BOARD RETREAT, WE CAN PIN THEM DOWN A LITTLE BIT OR SEE OR HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE.

OH, THAT'S MUCH MORE DIPLOMATIC.

AND THAT WHEN WE HAVE NEEDS.

AND WE'D LIKE TO HAVE JUST A DEEP. YES.

LOVE IT. ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS? THAT WHERE WE ARE LEGISLATIVELY.

OKAY. AND IT'S WONDERFUL TO HEAR THAT PARENTS WANT TO JOIN BECAUSE WE NEED A FULL GROUP OF PEOPLE ACROSS THE STATE WORKING ON THE ADVOCACY.

AND SO IT'S TIME FOR BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS.

[15. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS]

SO I'LL LOOK TO DIRECTOR SMITH FIRST.

SO SOMETHING WAS MENTIONED A LITTLE BIT EARLIER TODAY THAT REALLY PIQUED MY INTEREST.

THE CENTER FOR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING, ONE OF MY FAVORITE OUTLETS, THEY ACTUALLY HAVE A WONDERFUL PODCAST CALLED REVEAL, DOES SOME GREAT REPORTING.

AND SO WHEN IT WAS MENTIONED TODAY, I THOUGHT I SHOULD PROBABLY LOOK INTO WHAT WAS ACTUALLY SAID.

SO LUPRON IS THE DRUG THAT WAS MENTIONED AND IT IS A SOUNDS LIKE A VERY DANGEROUS DRUG.

REALLY EVERYTHING THAT WAS SAID ABOUT SIDE EFFECTS IS TRUE.

THE ISSUE IS THAT IN THIS STORY, NOT A SINGLE MENTION OF TRANSGENDER INDIVIDUALS EXISTS.

ADDITIONALLY, THE ONLY THING THAT THIS DRUG HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR IS TREATING PROSTATE CANCER AND PUBERTY AND INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHT WHEN THEY BEGIN HAVING SEXUAL DEVELOPMENT.

ANYTHING ELSE IS CONSIDERED AN OFF LABEL USE.

SO BASICALLY WHAT WAS DESCRIBED TO US WOULD AMOUNT TO MEDICAL MALPRACTICE.

SO I CAN PRETTY MUCH ASSURE YOU THAT IF ANYBODY IN OUR COMMUNITY BASED CENTERS IS COMMITTING MALPRACTICE, WE'RE DEFINITELY GOING TO HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THAT OTHER REASON TO BRING TRANSGENDER PEOPLE INTO THIS CONVERSATION AT ALL.

MOST OF THESE SIDE EFFECTS WERE FROM ACTUALLY CHILDREN WHO WERE FORCED TO TAKE IT BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS WANTED TO DELAY PUBERTY UNTIL THEIR ADULTHOOD.

SO IT WAS MAINLY FROM PARENTS BEING ABUSIVE TOWARDS THEIR CHILDREN.

ANYWAY, I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE GOT THAT STRAIGHTENED ON THE RECORD.

OTHERWISE, I'M VERY EXCITED THAT WE GET OUR SIX WEEK RECESS HERE.

WE WERE GIVEN SOME HOMEWORK.

WE ARE TO THINK ABOUT WHAT WE WANT TO DO WITH OUR CAPITAL BUDGET AND OUR BONDS THAT ARE COMING UP AND HOW WE WANT TO PRIORITIZE THAT.

SO I KNOW THAT MY COLLEAGUES HERE ARE GONNA BE SPENDING A LOT OF TIME THINKING ABOUT THAT, AND WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING MORE CONVERSATIONS WITH LYDIA AND THE REST OF

[00:30:02]

OUR STAFF. IT'S VERY EXCITING TO SEE SOME OF THE STUFF THE DISTRICT CAN DO, SOME OF THE NEW BUILDINGS WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET.

I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT THAT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT POOL OF MONEY THAN EVERYTHING ELSE WE DO.

THIS IS JUST FOR BUILDING STUFF, BASICALLY.

WE CAN'T USE IT FOR ANYTHING ELSE.

WE CAN'T MAKE ANYTHING ELSE HAPPEN WITH IT.

SO WE ARE JUST LOOKING AT BUILDING STUFF NOW AND IT LOOKS LIKE WE'LL BE ABLE TO DO SOME REALLY COOL THINGS AND BRING OUR EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS UP A LITTLE BIT FURTHER FOR OUR SIXTH GRADERS ESPECIALLY.

UH, DIRECTOR.

DIRECTOR NOBLE.

YEAH, I DON'T REALLY HAVE MANY COMMENTS TONIGHT, BUT I DID WANT TO THANK LYDIA SELLIE AND HER STAFF FOR PUTTING THAT BUDGET TOGETHER.

I DON'T THINK PEOPLE REALIZE HOW MANY LINE ITEMS ARE IN THE BUDGET.

IT'S IT'S MORE THAN ANYBODY CAN COUNT AND MORE THAN, IN MY OPINION, ANY ORGANIZATION CAN PUT TOGETHER.

AND SO IT'S A MASSIVE JOB.

AND I JUST WANT TO THANK HER AND HER STAFF FOR GETTING IT OUT AND GETTING OUT FAIRLY EARLY.

MANY TIMES WE HAVEN'T HAD THE BUDGET TO VOTE ON UNTIL LATE IN AUGUST.

SO I APPRECIATE ALL THAT.

GOOD WORK. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THAT'S ALL I HAVE. THANK YOU, DIRECTOR CHASE.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

JUST EXPAND IT A LITTLE BIT UPON WHAT YOU WERE COMMENTING ON.

I DO ALSO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS RIGHTS TO MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS WITH THEIR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, AND I THINK THAT'S AN APPROPRIATE PLACE FOR THOSE.

A LOT OF THOSE COMMENTS, I AM JUST THRILLED AT SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE DO DURING THE SUMMER, WHICH IS MEALS FOR STUDENTS.

AND I JUST AM SO I BELIEVE, GOSH, I FORGOT HOW MANY LUNCHES.

IT'S LIKE 2000 OR THE MEALS.

DO WE HAPPEN TO KNOW HOW MANY MEALS? I THINK IT WAS ON OUR WEBSITE THAT WE'RE DOING IN SUMMER NOW? I MEANT TO PULL THAT UP.

YOU KNOW, I ASKED TODAY AND I THINK WE'RE STILL COLLECTING THAT, BUT IT'S A LITTLE DOWN FROM LAST YEAR, SO WE'RE DOING SOME ADDITIONAL PUBLICITY AND GETTING THE WORD OUT, HOPEFULLY. WONDERFUL.

WELL, I THINK IT'S A WONDERFUL SERVICE AND WE'LL JUST KEEP WORKING ON GETTING THE PUBLICITY OUT THAT WE DO.

WE ARE SUPPLYING MEALS FOR THE SUMMER.

AND ALSO I MENTIONED I WAS STOPPING IN AT KIDS IN TRANSITION AND A LITTLE WHILE AGO AND JUST THEY I WANT TO JUST EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION FOR THE WORK THAT THEY DO THERE, PARTICULARLY KIM GORNEY AND MY SON, WHO IS A GRADUATE FROM MOUNTLAKE TERRACE HIGH SCHOOL A FEW YEARS AGO.

AND HE STILL HAD HIS PROM OUTFIT AND HE FINALLY WAS DECIDING TO GO THROUGH HIS HIS CLOSET.

IT'S LIKE TIME FOR THAT TO GO.

AND IT'S LIKE AND, YOU KNOW, THAT'S KIDS IN TRANSITION COLLECTS CLOTHING SPECIFICALLY FOR THAT.

AND I SO APPRECIATE THAT SERVICE.

AND I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE WHO'S GOT THEIR STUDENTS WHO ARE OUTGROWING THEIR CLOTHES, BUT THEY'RE STILL, YOU KNOW, PROM STUFF ISN'T USUALLY WORN.

VERY OFTEN TAKE IT DOWN TO KIDS IN TRANSITION.

THERE'S ALSO A LOT OF PLENTY OF OTHER NEEDS DOWN THERE TO SUPPORT THEIR GOOD WORK DURING THE SUMMER.

AND THAT'S ABOUT IT.

SO THANK YOU, DIRECTOR KILGORE.

OH, THANK GOODNESS IT'S SUMMER THAT I THINK I'VE SAID THIS BEFORE.

I DID FOLLOW UP.

I DON'T I WAS I'M PRETTY SURE THE ANSWER WAS THAT'S OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF OUR SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CENTER.

THAT KIND OF SERVICE IS NOT BEING PROVIDED THERE.

I WOULD STRONGLY URGE THAT THIS IS NOT THE BUSINESS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD.

THAT I DON'T KNOW.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU JUST SAID.

IF THAT'S TRUE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU SAID.

IF THAT'S TRUE, IT'S NOT MY JOB.

IT'S NOT THE KIND OF THING I MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT.

HOWEVER I DO.

WHEN WE DECIDED TO TO PUT A SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CENTER IN, I DID WANT TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO BE DONE AT THE SCHOOL, SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CENTER.

AND I WAS VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT.

I THINK I COMMUNICATED WITH YOU ABOUT THAT, ABOUT DENTAL CARE AND JUST BASIC HEALTH CARE AND THE KINDS OF THINGS THAT KEEP KIDS FROM COMING TO SCHOOL.

AND THAT STILL TODAY INSPIRES ME TO SUPPORT THE SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CENTER.

BUT I DO BELIEVE THAT THE KINDS OF THINGS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT IN THIS ROOM JUST ARE OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF THAT OTHERWISE.

OH, GOSH, I'M JUST HAPPY WE'RE OUT, YOU KNOW? AND I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO SAY.

SO ENJOY THE REST OF THE SUMMER UNTIL WE SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN.

THANK YOU. AND DIRECTOR KILGORE, I AGREE WITH YOU WITH THOSE QUESTIONS THAT THAT'S OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF OUR STUDENT BASED HEALTH CENTER.

WE ASK THOSE QUESTIONS.

SPECIALIZED HEALTH CARE LIKE THAT ISN'T GIVEN AT OUR IT'S ROUTINE HEALTH CARE THAT THE KIDS GET AT THE STUDENT BASED HEALTH CENTER.

I ALSO THE COMMENT THAT WAS MADE ABOUT IT SOUNDED LIKE SNACKS ARE BEING RATIONED IN IN THE SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM REALLY SURPRISES

[00:35:05]

ME TO HEAR THAT BECAUSE FOR THE LAST THREE SUMMERS, NOT THIS SUMMER BECAUSE I'M HAVING TO DO OTHER THINGS THAT ARE LESS FUN.

BUT I VOLUNTEERED AS PART OF THE NOURISHING NETWORK PLAY AND LEARN AND EAT PROGRAM.

THERE WERE TONS OF FOOD, AND I THINK WE SHOULD LOOK INTO WHY.

THERE'S SOME MESSAGES COMING INTO OUR SUMMER SCHOOL THAT SOMEHOW WE HAVE TO BE RATIONING SNACKS THAT ARE BEING GIVEN BECAUSE THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE IN LINE WITH MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE FOOD THAT'S AVAILABLE.

I CERTAINLY CAN HAVE.

I'M NOT GOING TO BE AVAILABLE TO LOOK INTO THAT, BUT WE CAN CERTAINLY HAVE SOMEBODY CHECK INTO SPECIFICALLY IF IT'S THE DUAL LANGUAGE I'M SORRY, NOT DUAL LANGUAGE, MULTILINGUAL LEARNER PROGRAMS WHERE THAT MESSAGE WENT OUT.

WE CAN CERTAINLY HAVE SOMEONE CHECK INTO THAT.

THAT JUST DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT.

SO THANK YOU.

OKAY. AND OTHER THAN THAT, I JUST WANT TO WISH EVERYBODY A WONDERFUL SUMMER, RELAX, DO THE THINGS YOU ENJOY, AND WE'LL BE DOING OUR WORK IN THE BACKGROUND TO TRY TO BE READY FOR ALL EVERYTHING THAT'S COMING UP.

SO I WILL TURN IT OVER TO DR.

MINOR JUST TO EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION TO THE BOARD.

AS VOLUNTEER POSITIONS GO, THIS ONE IS A HEAVY LIFT AND I HOPE THAT YOU ALL ENJOY A LITTLE BIT OF TIME AWAY AND DO THE THINGS WHICH SAME THING I TELL STAFF AND WHICH I KNOW SOME OF YOU ASCRIBE TO WHEN YOU EMAIL STAFF.

I HOPE YOU CAN FIND SOME TIME TO DO THE THINGS WHICH BRING YOU JOY AND REJUVENATION OVER THIS BRIEF PERIOD OF RECESS FOR THE BOARD.

THANK YOU.

AND THEN THE LAST IS ARE THERE ANY NEW ITEMS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE US TO CONSIDER FOR TOPICS, FOR MEETINGS, STUDY SESSIONS?

[16. ITEMS FOR FUTURE CONSIDERATION OR INFORMATION]

ET CETERA. IN THE FUTURE.

YOU KNOW, I HAD ONE. I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT IT IS.

IT'S. IT CAN WAIT.

WRITE IT DOWN ON YOUR POLICY.

OKAY. ANYTHING ELSE? OKAY, WELL, THEN I AM HAPPY TO SAY THIS REGULAR BUSINESS MEETING OF THE EDMONDS SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS IS NOW ADJOURNED.
